Caribbean Girls Entrepreneurship Program (CGEP)

Caribbean youth

Caribbean Returning Nationals Foundation (CRN)’s newest program, the Caribbean Girls Entrepreneurship Program (CGEP), was created to bridge the gender, income, and opportunity gap amongst young women in the Caribbean region. CGEP also helps teenage girls build confidence in themselves and discover their own entrepreneurial potential at an early age.

There have been several efforts made by other organizations to boost women’s participation and entrepreneurship in the region. However, those efforts tend to focus more on experienced women who have been in business for many years. CRN noticed a lack of opportunity for girls and young women (ages 13 to 25).

CRN’s mission is to fill the participatory-opportunity gap by offering girls the chance to connect with mentors, receive training in professional development, and develop their own creativity through the Caribbean Girls Entrepreneurship Program.

CRN also implements CGEP efforts through a Change Management Program. Girls participating in this program learn to become community problem solvers, mentors and leaders. CGEP overall goals are to:

  • Provide small investments for girl’s entrepreneurs.
  • Integrate Caribbean girls into the regional and global ecosystems
  • Promote inter-island trading amongst our CGEP network
  • Contribute to developing local economies
  • Teach girls problem solving skills and encourage use to solve problems in their immediate community

Add Your Name to Our List of Supporters:

There is a great need to empower girls in the Caribbean region. Your letter of support for this initiative would be greatly appreciated. Showing girls and young women that they are valued and that there are people who believe in them, their efforts, and this program, is the first step to seeing girls develop entrepreneurial passion and success.
